The Artist
Danny Shervin
Born and raised in Jackson Hole. 20 years of painting with gunpowder and fire.
Danny Shervin is an artist based in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Born and raised in Jackson, he grew up with the Grand Tetons in his backyard. Growing up in Wyoming provided an incredible background to fuel his passion for art.
He started using gunpowder as a medium as the result of a happy accident. One late night, a pile of spilled gunpowder and a white laminate kitchen table marked the beginning of his journey into the world of gunpowder art. He has roughly 20 years of experience with gunpowder and has been using it professionally for the past 10 years.
He is best known for his wildlife gunpowder paintings on canvas and wood. Each painting is one of a kind and takes hours upon hours to get each and every detail set in place before burning it at the very end. The process transforms something historically destructive into something beautiful.
When he is not painting, Danny enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, hiking, and being outdoors in the Wyoming wilderness that inspires his work.
